Aqua Patinas, unlike their oil-based cousins, are much more viscous, water-based and come in a range of striking bohemian colors including purple, Phthalo blue and medium cadmium red. However, they are just as highly pigmented and really brighten up projects from upcycled furniture to wall art. The advantage of a water-based patina is that they are a bit more forgiving – if you don't like the result, you can just paint them and start over. Not really an option with oil-based patinas.
PRO TIP: the patinas are very opaque, so you don't have to be heavy-handed in terms of quantity.
